An invited audience of family and friends, residents and colleagues cheered on performers displaying a range of acts and talents, from singing and dancing to playing the keyboard and drums, as well as magic and comedy.
The event celebrates the diverse skills, talents and abilities of the people supported by Cygnet’s wide range of social care services.
Following on from the inaugural event last year, performers from Beacon House, Broughton Lodge, Cherry Tree House, Ellen Mhor, Fairways, Kirkside House, Kirkside Lodge, Langdale House, Long Eaton Day Services, Old Leigh House, Pines, Marion House, The Fields, The Orchards, Oxley Woodhouse, Toller Road, Trinity Lodge, Ranaich House, Willow House, Woodrow House and our Supported Living service in Leeds showcased their talents in front of an audience of more than 170 guests.
Gareth Williams, CEO of Social Care, said: “I am delighted that this year’s event was even bigger and brighter than the last. With more talents on show from the fantastic individuals we are proud to support, this really is a highlight of the year for us all at Cygnet Social Care.
“I am grateful to our teams across the country who have empowered the people in our services to rehearse and submit their audition videos, and for travelling with them to Manchester, including from our Scottish sites, to enable them to enjoy such a meaningful experience.
“I know from speaking to the individuals themselves, their families and our colleagues what it means for them to take part in this event, and the sheer joy in the room makes it one of the highlights of the year.
“It was once again a privilege to witness such an inspiring display of talent and happiness. This event was a wonderful opportunity to bring our services together, celebrate the unique abilities of the people we support, and simply have fun. We know how important the creative arts are for personal expression and wellbeing, and Cygnet Social Care’s Got Talent perfectly captures that spirit.”
