These shortlists recognise the passion, dedication, and outstanding leadership shown by our teams in supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs.
The Social Care Leadership Awards 2025 will take place on 21st October at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square, celebrating excellence across the sector with categories spanning learning disabilities and autism, dementia care, children and young people, and both care home and home care leadership.
Lorraine Platt – Executive Learning Disabilities and Autism Leader Finalist
Lorraine Platt, Service Manager at Trinity House and Trinity Lodge in Lockerbie, has been named a finalist in the Executive Learning Disabilities and Autism Leader category.
Lorraine began her career at Trinity House in 2017 as an activity coordinator and has since progressed to managing both services. At Trinity, Lorraine leads a team dedicated to empowering individuals to live fulfilling, independent lives. Under her leadership, the services have built strong community partnerships – including the creation of Hartnell’s Café, a resident-run social enterprise offering work experience, life skills and qualifications in areas such as customer service and food hygiene.
Lorraine said: “I feel shocked but honoured to be shortlisted. I have the pleasure of working alongside an amazing team at Trinity, and we all work together to ensure the individuals we support are part of our local community and choosing how they want to live their lives.”
Mariam Javed – Executive Learning Disabilities and Autism Leader Finalist
Mariam Javed, Service Manager at Thornfield House in Bradford, has been named a finalist in the Executive Learning Disabilities and Autism Leader category.
Starting her career as a support worker in 2016, Mariam has progressed through several roles to become a registered manager. At Thornfield House, she leads a service that supports adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs, creating an inclusive environment for residents while nurturing a strong team culture.
Mariam said: “When I started out as a support worker nine years ago, I never imagined the journey ahead of me. This recognition isn’t just about me, it’s about the work we all do every single day to make a difference in people’s lives.”
Natasha Radbone – Executive Home Care Leader Finalist
Team Leader Natasha Radbone from Norcott Lodge in Liversedge has been shortlisted in the Executive Home Care Leader category.
With 12 years at Cygnet Social Care, Natasha has built a reputation for her dedication to both residents and colleagues. Norcott Lodge provides outcome-focused residential support for adults with learning disabilities and associated complex needs, and Natasha’s leadership has been central to fostering a positive, supportive environment.
Natasha said: “I absolutely love working at Cygnet and making a real difference to both staff and residents’ lives. To be recognised at a national level feels amazing.”
Adrianne Evans-Faulkner – Partnership Champion Finalist
Adrianne Evans-Faulkner, Service Manager at Supported Living in Leeds, is a finalist in the Partnership Champion category.
Adrianne manages an 18-bed service designed in partnership with Leeds City Council to help adults with learning disabilities transition into more independent living. Her leadership style focuses on empowering staff and building strong partnerships that improve outcomes for residents.
Adrianne said: “Each member of staff here is a valued and dedicated part of our family. Being a leader of such an exceptional, hardworking team is a privilege.”
