On Friday 6th May service users at Cygnet Lodge Kenton held a Spring Concert. The women performed ten songs in total, each of which had a special meaning to at least one of them. The set list included favorites such as ‘Lean On Me’, ‘Let It Go’ and ‘Your Song’ and the group also performed two original songs, ‘I’m A Warrior’ and ‘We’re Not Mad’.

‘I’m A Warrior’, inspired by Demi Lovato’s ‘Warrior’ was recorded at the concert, making it the first song to be recorded on site. Nicky Morris, the Lodge’s Dramatherapist then created an accompanying video featuring the lyrics to the song. The video can be viewed on the YouTube clip below. Plans are are already in place to record ‘We’re Not Mad’ and the aim is for the group to have created a CD of original songs by the end of the year.

The concert was also a chance to say farewell to C, who was being discharged after a successful stay at the Lodge. All the staff and service users at the Lodge would like to C all the best for the future.
