Cygnet Hospital Bury’s Hud Fest 23

Earlier this month the Occupational Therapy team for Cygnet Hospital Bury’s Hudson services organised a summer festival event called Hud Fest.

As usual the OT team went the extra mile in planning the event and were rewarded by such a wonderful day enjoyed by service users and family members, staff and invited guests.

There were inflatables, coconut shies, ball in the bucket, hook at duck, photo booths, chill out tents, a DJ tent, tombola and hydration stations. Popular as ever was the wet sponge stall, especially when a member of the finance team volunteered.

Food was courtesy of a fantastic BBQ lunch provided by the kitchen staff, a special thanks to Stuart and Lynn and the team for their support. There was also cakes, doughnuts and an ice cream van was arranged to make the day even more special with Sibo, Clinical Service Manager, serving out ice creams to all.

Jo-Ann McAuliffe ,Deputy Director of Nursing was one of many special guests for the day and said: “After Covid lockdowns at last we are back to ‘normal’. What a fantastic day to see both service users and staff take part in such a large event, it was such an amazing experience.

“The weather was on our side and the atmosphere was electric. It was a breath of fresh air to see the co-produced work for the event and to see everyone enjoying themselves together. If I hadn’t have known better I would never of guessed the event was taking place in a secure setting. Well done to all who organised and attended. I look forward to the next event.”
