Thousands of Cygnet colleagues share pride in company culture in latest staff survey

Thousands of colleagues across Cygnet have shared positive feedback about working for the organisation, with the latest Staff Survey highlighting high levels of pride, support from managers and a continued commitment to delivering outstanding care.

A total of 8,971 colleagues took part in the 2026 Staff Survey, representing 79% of the workforce. The results demonstrate a strong organisational culture where colleagues feel respected, supported to develop and empowered to provide the highest standards of care.

Among the survey highlights:

  • 91% said the care of service users is Cygnet’s top priority.
  • 93% said the organisation acts on concerns raised by service users.
  • 85% said they would be happy for a friend or relative to receive treatment or care at Cygnet.
  • 88% said they enjoy working for Cygnet.
  • 86% said they are proud to work for the organisation.
  • 82% would recommend Cygnet as a great place to work.

Jenny Gibson, Cygnet’s HR Director, said: “Our colleagues are at the heart of everything we do, so it’s incredibly encouraging to see such positive feedback from across the organisation. These results reflect a workplace where people feel respected, valued and supported to do meaningful work every day.

“We know that when colleagues have the right support, opportunities to develop and confidence to speak up, they are able to provide the very best care for those we support. It’s particularly pleasing to see such strong results around line management, learning and development, and our caring culture.

“While we’re proud of these results, we also see the staff survey as an opportunity to listen, learn and continue improving. We remain committed to creating an inclusive environment where every colleague feels they belong, can thrive, and is empowered to make a difference.”

The survey also highlighted the strength of leadership across the organisation, with 93% of colleagues saying their line manager treats them with respect, 89% saying their manager values their work, and 95% saying they know they can access support from their line manager if they need it.

Learning and professional development continue to be key strengths, with 91% saying they receive the training they need to do their job well and 85% feeling Cygnet values learning and development.

The results also reinforce Cygnet’s positive workplace culture. Almost nine in ten colleagues (87%) described people at Cygnet as caring, while 85% said colleagues are respectful. An impressive 96% said they are aware of Freedom to Speak Up, 97% know how to report malpractice, fraud or wrongdoing, and 95% said they are encouraged to report errors, near misses and incidents, reflecting a culture built on openness, transparency and continuous improvement.

Supporting colleague wellbeing also remains a priority. More than four in five colleagues (84%) said their manager takes an interest in their health and wellbeing, while 83% said they could access support to help with the pressures of their job if needed.
