The three single occupancy flats sit alongside the current 6 bedroom service in Bishop Auckland, County Durham. Thornfield Grange supports individuals who have behaviours that may challenge, as well as those who have significant difficulties with social engagement. Each flat has a lounge, kitchen/diner, en-suite bedroom and its own garden, whilst also having access to the service’s main gardens.
The flats will be able to accommodate individuals who may require additional support in a safe, comfortable and effective care environment. Residents will have access to the on-site multi-disciplinary team (MDT) who assist and support us to provide outcome-based care and support pathways.
It’s fabulous to see the flats complete. It represents a year’s worth of planning and development and signals a commitment to develop our service to meet the changing demands of individuals with autism and learning disabilities.
We’ll shortly be welcoming our first resident into the flats and can’t wait to support them to achieve their own goals. The flats will give even more opportunity to support individuals that may struggle to live with others and provide them with the opportunity to live within the community in their own home, whilst also allowing them to be part of the bigger Thornfield Grange family.
