Residential services Summer Show a big hit!

On Thursday 14th July our residential services in the east of England got together to hold their annual Summer Show.

The show was hosted by The Orchards, a residential service in Thorrington, Essex. They were joined by residents and staff from seven other residential services including Chaseways, Ducks Halt, Fairways, Gables, Old Leigh House and Walkern Lodge.

Everyone attending was encouraged to wear Hawaiian themed outfits, including special guests from Cygnet’s senior management team including Beatrice Nyamande (Regional Operations Director), Jenny Gibson (HR Director), Lyn Elliott (Head of HR Operations) and Pam Wenger (Board Secretary).

The sun shone throughout the day and everyone was kept cool by a supply of ice cream from a van sponsored by EBMG and hydrated by cold drinks sponsored by Coca-Cola. There was also lots of tasty food on offer courtesy of a BBQ run by The Orchards staff.

Music was provided by The Entertainment Providers who put on a show called Summer Holiday. The show was a rollercoaster tour of music from around the world including Egypt, France, Spain, the UK and Las Vegas era Elvis!

There was also a staff awards ceremony which were awarded by Beatrice, Jenny and Lynn to staff members from each service in the region for going the extra mile for both residents and their colleagues.

Beatrice Nyamande said, “Thanks to Ollie White for taking the lead on the organisation of this special event. The purpose of the day was to bring the people in our care together for a fun day and to thank and celebrate our staff. It was really heart-warming to see how much the residents and staff alike really enjoyed the day, with some dancing non-stop.”

Ollie White, service manager at The Orchards, said, “Everyone had a brilliant time with lots of singing, eating and dancing. Thank you to everyone for supporting me to make this happen for the residents. Their smiles made it all worth it.”

The event was a huge success and everyone’s enjoyment was captured brilliantly by Suman Dewan, service manager of Fairways, who was on camera duty. For lots more of Suman’s photos take a look at the photo gallery below. Click on the images to enlarge.
