Located in Bradford, Longfield House is a specialist residential care service for adults with learning disabilities, run by Cygnet Social Care.
Nine members of staff banded together to take on the Yorkshire Tough Mudder, raising £500 for St Gemma’s Hospice.
The charity provides care to individuals in Leeds with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses and offers support to their families.
Frankie King, Home Manager at Longfield House, explained the team’s motivation for taking on the challenge.
She said: “We wanted to raise money for St Gemma’s Hospice as it is a great charity which provides support to so many families when their loved ones are nearing the end of their lives.
“It was an absolutely incredible fundraiser. The obstacles were both challenging and fun.”
Over the weekend, the Cygnet Social Care staff took to Broughton Hall in Skipton and battled through a thrilling obstacle course, completing it side-by-side.
Renowned for being one of the most physically demanding events in the UK, the team crawled through the mud, tackled a field of wires crackling with 10,000 volts of electricity and clambered over an eight-foot wall.
“The Longfield House team worked really well together, and we conquered some of our fears,” explained Frankie.
“We pushed through every single challenge and helped others completing the course along the way, which was great. Our fundraiser showed our team spirit and comradery.”
