The meeting was led by Vicky McNally, Cygnet’s Director of Partnership and Engagement. Vicky was joined by over 20 colleagues from across the organisation including clinical, operations, HR and corporate team members.
On launching the Network Vicky said: “Talking to colleagues there seemed to be a real appetite to develop a Women’s Network, which would link in closely with our existing staff networks, such as the LGBTQ+ Network and Multicultural Network, and contribute to Cygnet’s Diversity and Inclusion strategy.”
During the inaugural meeting the group discussed the following:
- The aims of the group.
- How to ensure the group is representative and covers all demographics, including age, race, cultural background, role within the organisation, and those who identify as a woman and allies.
- Name and logo ideas.
- How the network can help shape and influence Cygnet’s practice and policy.
- How network can be used to celebrate and support women across the organisation.
