Thirteen members of staff and seven individuals supported at Ducks Halt and The Orchards joined together for the walk on Friday 3 October.
The individuals supported at the Cygnet Social Care services united and chose to fundraise for Cancer Research, with nearly £600 raised.
Cancer Research helps to save lives by preventing, controlling and curing cancer. The charity helps to fund scientists, doctors and nurses to work towards prevention, diagnosis and treatments to help beat cancer sooner.
Ollie White, Dual Registered Manager at Ducks Halt and The Orchards, said: “We were so excited to undertake our fundraising walk and raise as much money as possible for this very important charity.
“Our residents and staff are very passionate about fundraising for Cancer Research as every donation to them is vital in saving lives and improving the quality of life for those affected by cancer. Any contribution has an impact and we wanted to play our part and make a difference.”
The group trekked along the coastline and across beaches from Clacton pier to Walton-on-the-Naze pier and back.

Ollie said: “Fundraisers like this are really important to our residents as it gives them a sense of purpose, builds their community spirit and provides them with opportunities for personal growth.
“Here at Cygnet Social Care, we like to involve the individuals we support in all of our charity work as it helps strengthen their relationships with the community whilst raising awareness for vital services. We think it is important to foster an inclusive environment where everyone can make a positive contribution.”
“Our pier to pier walk to support our peers was a huge success, everybody really enjoyed themselves, and there was some good conversations along the way and a real sense of fun and camaraderie whilst we fundraised for such as important cause.”
