The Involvement Network brings together service users and staff from secure services, including NHS and private organisations, mostly from the Yorkshire and Humber region. The Network is about sharing best practices, improving service, and working collaboratively to improve the experience and quality of support that individuals receive.
The annual Network event is always a highly anticipated day, with service users and staff working together throughout the year to plan and prepare. This year, the planning team did a great job of providing attendees with a wide variety of experiences. Each aiming to encourage service users to try something new.
Activities included a Ceilidh Band, animal encounters, circus skills, art workshops and an exhibition from the mental health museum. Service users from Cygnet Hospital Bierley attended the event, and particularly enjoyed the animal encounters and capturing memories in the photo booth.
The annual creative competition saw services bring along a mascot. Entrants were encouraged to consider their service’s identity, values and local heritage. There were lots of great submissions from across the region, including a peacock with his very own ID badge! The top 4 entries were from:
- Amber Lodge
- The Humber Centre
- Newton Lodge
- Waterloo Manor
The winner will be announced at a virtual follow up this month.
