Cygnet Social Care Celebrates National Award Win at Stars of Learning Disabilities and Autism Awards 2025

Cygnet Social Care is proud to announce that one of its Operations Directors has been recognised at the Stars of Learning Disabilities and Autism Awards, a national celebration of outstanding individuals and teams supporting people with learning disabilities and autism across the UK.

The awards ceremony took place in December at the Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel, hosted by The Traitors star and Mencap Ambassador Alexander Dragonetti.

The Stars of Learning Disabilities and Autism Awards honour those who go above and beyond to deliver high-quality, person-centred care and support. Categories recognise excellence across all levels of service delivery from strategic leadership to frontline care.

Among this year’s winners was Ben Caufield-Lawrence, Operations Director for Cygnet Social Care’s South West region, who received The Dazzling Director Award. The award recognises directors who combine strategic leadership with compassion, innovation and vision to help shape the future of learning disability and autism services.

The judging panel praised Ben’s “transformative leadership”, highlighting his introduction of innovative care models that enhance independence, dignity and personal choice, alongside his commitment to championing co-production to ensure people supported are actively involved in shaping their own care.

Judges added: “Ben has expanded services, achieved top regulatory ratings, and fostered an inclusive, empowering workplace with high staff engagement and low turnover. His strategic vision, mentorship, and measurable improvements in outcomes make him an inspirational leader.”

Commenting on his win, Ben said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to have won a Stars of Learning Disabilities award. This isn’t just a personal achievement, it’s a win for my entire team at Cygnet Social Care. I’m privileged to work alongside such passionate and dedicated colleagues who share a deep commitment to supporting people with learning disabilities to live fulfilling, independent lives.

“What makes this recognition so meaningful is that it reflects the conversations we have every day about best practice and how we measure success, ensuring that the people we support are truly achieving the goals and aspirations that matter most to them. This award is a testament to that shared focus and the incredible teamwork that drives us forward.”
