Located in Barnsley, Cygnet Pindar House is a 22-bed Neuropsychiatric care and treatment service for men affected by acquired brain injuries.
Staff at the Cygnet Health Care service have joined the festive effort by contributing to a charity’s Christmas gift appeal.
The Giving Tree is a Christmas campaign run by KidsOut, a charity that supports disadvantaged and vulnerable children living in refuges in the UK. The campaign encourages people to buy a toy for a child fleeing domestic abuse.

Tania Rudd, Occupational Therapist at Cygnet Pindar House, praised her team for their efforts.
She said: “It has been heart-warming to take part in The Giving Tree again this year. The kindness and generosity of our team is amazing and I am so grateful to all who participated.
“For many of us, Christmas means a safe place and being surrounded by family, however, this is not the reality for everyone – especially for children and young people in refuge. As a team we didn’t want to forget this and wanted to give back to such an amazing charity.”
The Cygnet Health Care team decided to move beyond the traditional office Secret Santa and for the past two years have instead purchased toys for children in local refuge homes.
Tania said: “Our team feel strongly that there is far more satisfaction in giving to people truly in need than in exchanging novelty gifts. KidsOut is a charity that provides a perfect way to shift focus to the true meaning of Christmas.
“Here at Cygnet Health Care, there is a real collective compassion to help others and work to actively enhance the lives of people around us through our own fortunate positions. It really feels like we have been able to make a difference to the lives of children and young people living in refuge this Christmas.”
