Cygnet Manor, on Central Drive, is a 20-bed high-dependency complex care service for men with learning disabilities and mental health needs.
The team scooped the New Corporate Partnership award at the Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity Awards 2026, honouring their sustained fundraising efforts and amazing dedication for the charity.
The awards celebrated individuals and organisation who support and add value to Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity as it marks its 50th anniversary.
Cygnet Manor received the prestigious award after showing sheer determination throughout 2025, with staff and service users raising £12,300 through a year of activities such as a Family Fun Day at Shirebrook Cricket Club, a sponsored skydive and a community car wash.
Judges praised the Cygnet Health Care team’s efforts, saying: “Cygnet Manor showed real passion and dedication to Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity with their fundraising efforts in 2025. They organised a fantastic calendar of events including an Easter egg extravaganza, bake sales, a car wash and so much more.
“Their creativity and commitment showed in every part of their fundraising, and it is a real pleasure to celebrate them.”
The judging panel also acknowledged the dedication of the Cygnet Manor team in caring for both individuals with learning disabilities and also others in the community by putting so much effort into supporting the local charity.
Kelly Shortt, Hospital Manager, reflected on her Cygnet Health Care service’s achievement: “I am incredibly proud of the whole team for the work they put into fundraising for such an incredible cause. It was a shock to be nominated for this award, so to win it is absolutely amazing.
“The events that ran throughout 2025 raised a staggering amount of money for children and their families and it will make a huge difference. Our fundraiser also brought the Cygnet Manor team together on a whole new level. This amazing achievement shows what a truly dedicated and caring team we have.”
Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity supports ground-breaking medical treatment, funds life-saving equipment and helps create a comfortable and engaging environment for children and families receiving care at the hospital.
The awards ceremony took place at the OEC in Sheffield on Friday 17 July.
