The Interpreting team at Cygnet Bury Dunes, located on Buller Street, banded together to complete a charity challenge, raising £308 in honour of Steve.
Steve was a freelance interpreter who worked regularly at the Cygnet Health Care service, which offers specialist deaf services, for 20 years before he died in May.
The Cygnet Bury Dunes team decided to raise the funds for Willow Wood Hospice, which cared for Steve before he passed away.
Explaining the motivation to fundraise for the Ashton-under-Lyne hospice, Tracy Gibson, BSL Interpreter, said: “It was very important to us to do something to show our gratitude to Willow Wood Hospice. Steve was a much-loved member of staff who touched the lives of so many people and was a truly valued member of the team.
“He was an extremely kind and considerate person, and he was loved by everyone who knew him. He had a wonderful ability to make everyone feel special, seen, and cared for.
“Steve was a truly special person himself, and we will always be grateful for the kindness, dedication, and compassion he showed to others. We are also grateful to the hospice for the care they showed him.”
Leading the fundraising plight, Tracy took on a five-hour fitness challenge, completing a 40-mile cycle and 200 squats, taking only five-minute breaks between sets.
The fundraiser took part in the heart of the Cygnet Health Care service, with the rest of the Interpreting team drumming up donations around the rest of the hospital.

“Thank you to everyone who donated so generously. Our colleagues’ kindness and support will make a real difference to Willow Wood Hospice and help continue the invaluable care they provide.”
Cygnet Bury Dunes is a 65-bed hospital for adults with mental health needs, which offers a range of inpatient mental health services, including specialist deaf services.
