Caroline Birtles-Harris appointed Nursing Educational Lead

We’d like to wish a warm welcome to Caroline Birtles-Harris who has been appointed to the role of Nursing Educational Lead.

Caroline has joined us to form strong links with our academic partners across the UK so that we can ensure we are able to host student nurses within our sites and ultimately retain them as newly Registered Nurses. We also want to ensure we have a strong tradition of clinical nurse education and Caroline’s role will be instrumental in this.

Caroline trained as a Mental Health Nurse in London in 1985 and had since worked in the NHS, in Social Care and for an Older Persons charity. She has clinical experience across an extensive range of psychiatric services as an operational manager and and has held executive roles in Nursing leadership and Quality Safety and Governance over the last ten years.

“Caroline has led with Nursing workforce development and preceptorship and is dedicated to developing talent in nursing through education and leadership training. She has contributed to many national agendas including Physical Health Care standards, Mortality Review, Suicide Prevention and Violence Reduction. She has a special interest in Quality Improvement and coaching for leadership.”David Wilmott, Director of Nursing
