Broughton Lodge leader shortlisted for national Social Care award

A Macclesfield care leader has been named as a finalist in a national awards programme celebrating excellence in social care leadership.

Emma McEvoy, Registered Manager of Cygnet Social Care’s Broughton Lodge, has been shortlisted at The Social Care Leadership Awards 2026 in the Executive Learning Disabilities & Autism Leader category.

Broughton Lodge, on London Road in Oak Grove, Macclesfield, is a specialist residential service supporting adults with autism and a learning disability.

Emma has dedicated the past 10 years to Broughton Lodge, working alongside her team to ensure the people living at the service are supported to develop their independence, achieve their goals and lead fulfilling lives.

Speaking about the recognition, Emma said: “Being nominated means so much to me. It is more than recognition for a role or a job; it acknowledges the compassion and commitment that go into supporting people and empowering others.

“To be recognised is very humbling. It can be a challenging role, and much of the work happens quietly behind the scenes without any expectation of praise.

“For me, this recognition represents the collective efforts of everyone I work alongside. Being part of Cygnet Social Care and working at Broughton Lodge has been my passion for 10 years. Putting the people we support at the heart of everything I do means everything to me.”

The Social Care Leadership Awards recognise outstanding leaders who are making a positive difference across the sector. The awards aim to celebrate strong and compassionate leadership.

For the Executive Learning Disabilities & Autism Leader category, the award will be given to a care leader who demonstrates a high level of expertise, exceptional skills in leadership and management, great support for colleagues and a positive commitment to person centred support.

The winners will be announced during an awards ceremony at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square on Tuesday 13 October 2026.
