Cygnet Elms recently held a fantastic event for Autism Awareness Week to raise money for the National Autistic Society. The event was organised by service user Florence Grant who gave a powerful presentation detailing her experiences of autism. In total the event has raised over £2600.

Service users and staff at Cygnet Aspen Clinic, our rehabilitation service in Mexborough for women with personality disorder, have been creating sensory boxes to donate to local schools.

Cygnet Hospital Ealing recently welcomed Elspeth van der Hole, who has lived experience of borderline personality disorder to share her experiences with the service users on New Dawn Ward, the hospital’s specialist Tier 4 personality disorder service for women.
We have launched a video campaign called #ihadthevaccine to urge ethnic minority communities to have the Covid vaccine. Amid concerns that the rate of infections and Covid deaths have been disproportionately high among minorities, and that BAME communities are less likely to take the vaccine, the aim of the campaign is to listen and share information to help people make informed choices.
The registered manager of Willow House said she was delighted after the care home retained its “Good” rating from the regulator, the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Willow House, in Edgbaston, West Midlands, is a residential care home providing personal and nursing care to seven people with a range of needs including learning difficulties and distressed behaviours.
Residents at Tupwood Gate Nursing Home in Caterham, Surrey, were delighted to have an unusual visitor to their garden – a pheasant!
The team at Ranaich House have been working hard to ensure that the environment is suited to their current residents and that they have the space to accommodate some of the residents’ favourite activities.
The Thistle House team have been getting creative to keep the activity timetable exciting for the residents at the service. Under the Covid restrictions they’ve been unable to do some of the community activities that they would usually be doing, and so the team have come up with some site based fun instead!
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Dame Clare Gerada as an independent advisor to the Board who will provide advice and oversight to the executive management team around clinical governance, practices and policies.
