On Wednesday 23rd September we successfully held our first CPD-accredited webinar – ‘Quality in CAMHS Services'. The webinar featured presentations by CAMHS professionals from Cygnet services as well as colleagues from the NHS.
We are delighted to announce that we are holding our first ever Nursing Awards, on Tuesday 13th October 2020. The awards, which will be held ‘virtually’, feature eight categories with the finalists nominated by their peers across the Cygnet group.
On Wednesday 16th September we held our grand opening event at Cygnet Nield House, our new 30-bed mental health hospital for women in Crewe. The hospital was officially opened in a ribbon cutting ceremony by Cllr Benn Minshall, the Mayor of Crewe.
Cygnet Cedars recently hosted their first Graduation Day to celebrate the achievements of service users who have participated in the Cedars Learning Pathway.
On Wednesday 9th September we held our grand opening event at Cygnet Hospital Hexham, our new PICU and Acute service for women with complex mental health needs. Due to open for admissions in October, the new 27-bed facility will provide an important and much-needed service for women and will offer treatment and rehabilitation through a specialist intensive care unit and an acute service for women.
Service users and staff at Cygnet Hospital Wyke were challenged to revive childhood memories in their own themed version of TV’s Bake-Off competition. The bakers had to create cakes that reminded them of a favourite memory.
We are pleased to announce that we are continuing our sponsorship of Mold Alexandra Football Club’s first team for the forthcoming season. Cygnet's relationship with the team goes back to 2015 and we are delighted to continue the partnership.
We recently asked our staff to get involved in the Wear Because You Care campaign. The response so far has been fantastic and we’ve received lots of great pictures from staff teams around the country promoting the use of facemasks.
On Wednesday 26th August, Cygnet St William’s, our male neuropsychiatric hospital in Darlington were honoured to be visited by Peter Gibson, MP for Darlington.
This summer we are immensely proud to celebrate the first of our successful Leadership and Management apprentices who have graduated with flying colours. So far we have seen 28 apprentices graduate and would like to offer our congratulations to every single one on their success.
The CAMHS team at Cygnet Hospital Sheffield have been working hard over the last 12 months to look at ways to strengthen co-production with the young people and their families. As a result they have received numerous compliments from parents and service users.
