Cygnet shortlisted in two categories at the British Training Awards 2026

Cygnet is proud to announce that it has been shortlisted in two categories at the British Training Awards 2026, recognising the organisation’s commitment to learning, development and creating a safe, respectful workplace culture.

The organisation has been named a finalist in the following categories:

  • Learning and Development Team of the Year (1,000+ employees)
  • Awareness Campaign of the Year for the ‘Not On My Watch – Stop Sexual Harassment’ campaign

The British Training Awards celebrate organisations and teams across the UK that are delivering exceptional learning and development initiatives and making a measurable impact through workplace training.

Cygnet’s shortlisted ‘Not On My Watch – Stop Sexual Harassment’ campaign was launched in response to strengthened UK legislation alongside the organisation’s wider commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive and respectful environment for all colleagues.

The campaign combined a mandatory e-learning module with posters, digital messaging and awareness materials displayed across services nationwide. Designed to increase understanding of what constitutes sexual harassment, improve confidence in challenging inappropriate behaviour and raise awareness of reporting routes, the initiative has reached colleagues across all areas of the organisation.

Over the past year, the campaign has been embedded across Cygnet services through multiple channels, including more than 100 screensavers viewed daily by approximately 13,000 colleagues. Feedback from staff has highlighted increased awareness, stronger confidence in speaking up and greater understanding of support and reporting mechanisms.

Cygnet’s Learning and Development team was also recognised for delivering training and workforce development initiatives at significant scale across the organisation.

Over the past 12 months, the team delivered:

  • 193,742 eLearning completions
  • 61,626 live training attendances
  • 179,191 hours of eLearning
  • Major organisation-wide programmes including PSIRF training, Infection Prevention training and Eating, Drinking and Swallowing Competency Framework training

The submission also highlighted Cygnet’s investment in leadership development, trauma-informed care, equality and diversity training, and new initiatives designed to improve patient safety, workforce capability and quality of care.

Jenny Gibson, Director of HR said: “We are delighted to be shortlisted in two categories at the British Training Awards. These nominations reflect the incredible commitment of our Learning and Development, HR and operational teams who work tirelessly to support colleagues across Cygnet.

“Creating a culture where colleagues feel safe, supported and empowered is incredibly important to us, and our ‘Not On My Watch’ campaign has played a key role in reinforcing that message across the organisation.

“We are equally proud of the impact our learning and development programmes continue to have in strengthening skills, supporting career progression and ultimately improving outcomes for the people in our care. To receive national recognition for this work is a fantastic achievement for everyone involved.”

Winners of the British Training Awards 2026 will be announced at a special celebration event on Wednesday 15th July at the iconic Grand Hall of the Grand Connaught Rooms in Covent Garden, London
