Cygnet Paddocks brings the seaside to Widnes

Cygnet Paddocks in Widnes brought joy and celebration to staff and service users with a seaside-themed summer fair.

The theme, chosen collaboratively by service users, transformed the Cygnet Health Care service into a seaside town.

The party was decorated in vibrant shades of blue and filled with coastal creations like classic photo stand-ins and seagulls made by service users.

“The summer fair was a fun, inclusive and engaging event that had a good turnout. It created opportunities for social interaction and participation, while adding a sense of community,” explained Charlotte Clemson, Occupational Therapy Assistant at Cygnet Paddocks.

“The real highlight was one of our service users taking on the role of DJ and providing music that kept the party atmosphere lively and memorable.”

The event featured a series of traditional fairground games, such as hook-a-duck and ring toss.

Individuals supported at the Cygnet Health Care service then tucked into a tasty BBQ followed by a refreshing ice cream, to add an extra touch of funfair magic.

Charlotte continued: “There was plenty of entertainment and friendly competition throughout the day as everyone got involved in activities in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.

“Our seaside fair gave both our staff and service users the opportunity to experience something different from their routine.”
