Both staff and service users at the Cygnet Health Care service donated 50 boxes of gifts to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool ahead of Christmas.
Occupational Therapy Assistant Charlotte Clemson praised the team’s charitable efforts.
She said: “Here at Cygnet Paddocks, we are so proud of our ability to bring some smiles to the faces of children at the hospital. It was a lovely initiative and really showed the helpfulness and generosity of the individuals we support here.
“Alder Hey Children’s Hospital do some incredible work and it was a great way for all of our staff and service users to actively contribute to something meaningful and give back to our local community.”
Staff and service users worked together to create 50 boxes for patients at the children’s hospital to open on Christmas Eve. The boxes included items such as pyjamas, toys, chocolates, pencils and socks.
Charlotte said: “Not only is our service about recovery, but it’s also about purpose, connection and wellbeing. After a brain injury, people can experience a loss of identity and reduced confidence.
“This gift giving really helped our service users feel valued, empowered and connected whilst also spreading festive cheer to children and their families during a challenge time of year.”
