Cygnet Manor shortlisted for National Learning Disabilities and Autism Award

The team at Cygnet Manor

Congratulations to the team at Cygnet Manor who have been shortlisted for a national award recognising inclusion and community involvement.

Shirebrook-based Cygnet Manor has been named a finalist in the Making a Difference category at the Learning Disabilities and Autism Awards 2026.

Located on Central Drive, the Cygnet Health Care service offers high-dependency complex care for 20 men with learning disabilities and mental health needs,

The awards celebrate excellence in supporting people with learning disabilities and autism, paying tribute to individuals and organisations who go above and beyond to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.

The Making a Difference Award specifically recognises those who have promoted inclusion and community cohesion, ensuring people with a learning disability have equal access and involvement in their community.

The Cygnet Health Care service works hard to ensure the individuals it supports have access to meaningful activities in the community. Throughout 2025, a joint fundraising effort from staff and service users saw Cygnet Manor raise over £12,000 for Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

Service users have also engaged in various other fundraising and community projects, including a collaboration with BLAST, a non-profit organisation in Shirebrook, to reduce food waste and support the local community with meals.

Cygnet Manor has previously been selected as finalists in the national awards in 2022, 2023 and 2025, with this year marking its fourth prestigious shortlisting.

Acknowledging the team’s achievement, Mellissa Greenwood, Head of Care at the Cygnet Health Care service, said: “I am incredibly proud of the team for their continued hard work and dedication to making a difference in the lives of those we support. To be finalists again in nationally recognised awards is an incredible
achievement.

“It is great that our team have been acknowledged for having such a positive impact on not only the individuals we support here but also on the wider community. This is at the very heart of everything we do at Cygnet Manor.”

Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Friday 19 June 2026 at the ICC Birmingham.
