The Quality Network for Mental Health Rehabilitation Services works with services to improve the quality of inpatient and community rehabilitation wards.
It engages staff, service users and carers in a comprehensive process of both self- and peer-review for the purpose of quality improvement and accreditation.
Cygnet Lodge Woking’s high support inpatient rehabilitation (level 2) service for men is split over 2 wards, Marlowe Ward and Milligan House.
Both wards have been accredited by the network in recognition of the good practice and high quality care being delivered at the Barton Close service.
The accreditation shows that the wards offer high quality, consistent care to some of the most disadvantaged and vulnerable members of our society in keeping with national guidelines, standards and legislation.
Amongst other things the peer review team assessed standards of care, current facilities, standards of documentation and health records, environmental facilities, and staff training qualifications, support and supervision.
Hospital Manager Carla Roadnight said she was delighted with the accreditation.
“We are incredibly proud to have achieved accreditation with the QNMHRS. This recognition is a testament to the quality of care we deliver and our commitment and dedication to continually improve to ensure service users get the support they deserve.
“Our recovery programme is delivered in a culture that balances risk management with therapeutic optimism, where men have the opportunity to learn and practice the skills they will need in a completely safe environment.
“Achieving an accreditation like this reinforces our commitment to delivering, safe, effective, person-centred rehabilitation, ensuring the men in our care receive the best opportunities for recovery and independence.”
