Cygnet Health Care announced as a UKABIF strategic partner for 2022/23

The United Kingdom Acquired Brain Injury Forum (UKABIF) have launched a new Strategic Partnership Programme for 2022/3 and we are delighted that Cygnet Health Care has been announced as a partner.

Together with the other strategic partners, Irwin Mitchell Solicitors and Leigh Day, we will meet with UKABIF on a regular basis over the next 12 months and support the activities connected to the Time for Change programme of work.

The Time for Change campaign was implemented through the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) to improve post-acute care for people with an ABI. The campaign’s collective vision is to make a lasting and meaningful impact on outcomes for people suffering from a brain injury. To achieve this they have identified the need to:

  • Make neurorehabilitation accessible and equitable
  • Develop Rehabilitation Prescriptions for all sufferers of ABI
  • Set national policy to enhance and support local delivery
  • Raise awareness of ABI and introduce supplementary screening and education at the point of need
  • Innovate and share best-practice and innovation
  • Create consistent data and information

Chloe Hayward, UKABIF’s Executive Director said, “Our strength very much lies in collaborative working and bringing people together. Through that partnership approach we work closely with government and Parliament, academics, charities, medical, legal and social care professionals to ensure that our demands for change are evidence-based, logical and practical as a first step to policy change.”

Rachael Chamberlain, Cygnet’s Neurological Business Development Director, said, “Cygnet Health Care continues to work with UKABIF as one of their strategic partners and shares the ethos and standards they value to support those affected by acquired brain injuries. Partnership and collaboration is what underpins excellent Neuropsychiatric Rehabilitation and is what will attain outstanding progress to achieve UKABIF’s goals for fair and equitable access to specialised services and support for those who have experienced acquired brain injuries.”

UKABIF is playing a key part in shaping the Government’s newly establish ABI Strategy, working closely with Chris Bryant MP, Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for ABI. Chloe Hayward is the co-chair of the Strategy’s Patient and Public Voice Reference Group.

UKABIF’s Time for Change Summit, sponsored by Cygnet, will take place on 7th November 2022 at The Lowry Hotel in Manchester.
