The highly specialised service for adults with eating disorders hosted a range of fun activities dedicated to Pride, which is celebrated throughout June.
Sameera Harrison, Ward Manager at Cygnet Elowen Hospital, highlighted the importance of the Pride celebrations.
She said: “We want our service users to feel valued, included, respected and empowered to express who they are and how they feel in a safe and supportive environment. Pride Month is a chance for us to celebrate diversity, individuality and love in all its forms.”
Service users kicked off celebrations by going head-to-head in a glitter art competition, with staff acting as the canvases for their creative designs. Other activities included a cookie decorating competition and a Pride-themed quiz with a handful of beauty prizes up for grabs.
“These activities provided an opportunity for creativity, self-expression, and connection, while promoting a culture of acceptance and belonging,” explained Sameera.
“It was inspiring to see such enthusiastic participation across our Cygnet Health Care service, with everyone coming together to demonstrate a shared commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.”
