On Tuesday 15th May 2018, the therapy team at Cygnet Hospital Beckton, a specialist mental health service for women, held an event for Mental Health Awareness Week. The theme of this year's event was stress.
This week it is Mental Health Awareness Week and the focus this year is on stress. In the second of two articles, Pam Palfreyman, Cygnet’s Occupational Health Group Lead, looks at strategies for managing stress. These include physiological, behavioural and psychological strategies.
Raf Hamaizia, Cygnet Health Care's Expert by Experience Lead, has recently been at the forefront of a campaign by the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) for Mental Health Awareness Week. The campaign, 'Putting mental health at the top of the agenda', features a number of video testimonials by experts by experience, including Raf, talking about their experiences of detention under the Mental Health Act.
