For Kizzie, who has lived at the service for nearly seven years, music has always been an important part of her life, particularly her love of Harry Styles. When she shared her wish to see him perform live, it quickly became a goal she was keen to work towards.
Following a period where she had been feeling lower than usual, having something positive to focus on provided a real boost. Attending a live concert offered an opportunity to improve her mood, build confidence, and create lasting memories.
Supporting individuals to achieve personal goals
When she shared her idea of attending Styles’ ‘Together, Together’ tour with Service Manager Deb, it was clear just how much this meant to her.
“We could see how important this was to Kizzie straight away,” Deb said. “We were determined to help her make it happen.”
With tickets in high demand, the team acted quickly. Deb contacted Kizzie’s social worker to confirm funding, and once agreed, they worked together to plan the trip in detail.
Kizzie took the lead in choosing her seats and successfully secured tickets to the concert, which was an exciting moment and a big step.
They also planned the journey into London, combining car travel with public transport to ensure the trip was accessible and well organised.
Counting down the days
In the lead-up to the concert, Kizzie spoke positively about the experience and shared her excitement with those around her. Having something to look forward to had a noticeable impact on her overall wellbeing.
To make the day even more special, Deb and Kizzie prepared their outfits, complete with sparkly glasses, feather boas, and diamanté face jewels, ready to fully embrace the concert atmosphere.

A positive experience at Wembley Stadium
On the day of the concert, the pair set off on their journey to London, making a stop along the way for Kizzie to enjoy some KFC.
There was a small mix-up with directions which meant an extra bus journey, but it didn’t dampen the mood. If anything, it became part of the experience, especially meeting a kind bus driver who let them ride for free.
On the way, Kizzie chatted with other fans, sharing favourite songs and building excitement together. By the time they arrived at Wembley, the atmosphere was already incredible.
“Seeing everyone dressed up and singing was amazing,” Kizzie said.

Before heading into the stadium, Kizzie treated herself to official merchandise – a cap and T-shirt – which she proudly wore for the show.
As the concert began, the energy inside Wembley was electric. Kizzie sang and danced along to every song, completely immersed in the experience.
One moment in particular stood out – when Harry Styles blew a kiss into the crowd.
“It felt like it was just for me,” Kizzie said with a smile.
Lasting memories
After the concert, still buzzing with excitement, Kizzie couldn’t wait to share the experience. She called her mum in the early hours of the morning to tell her all about it.
Days later, the joy hasn’t faded.
“It was one of the best days of my life,” she said.
She has continued to reflect on the experience, proudly wearing her Harry Styles merchandise and talking about the concert in the days since.
Supporting mental wellbeing in supported living
This experience demonstrates the importance of person-centred care in supporting individuals to achieve goals that are meaningful to them.
By working collaboratively with Kizzie, the team at The Old Vicarage supported her to plan and attend an event that enhanced her confidence, independence, and mental wellbeing.
Providing opportunities for residents to access meaningful activities and engage with the community is a key part of delivering high-quality supported living services.
