From admission, the team work with the men we support to maximise positive outcomes and recovery, while focusing on discharge plans to support them to move on to the least restrictive environment for them. Our dedicated clinical team provide a multi-disciplinary input including occupational therapy, psychology, psychiatry and vocational training.
Located 1 mile from Blackpool centre, Cygnet Newton House benefits from being close to plenty of amenities. There are good public transport links in the area with regular buses to the beach and other popular locations – the bus stop is just outside the service.
Within the service there are 21 en-suite bedrooms. We encourage and support individuals to personalise these according to their preferences, to promote a relaxing and comfortable space. There is a communal lounge and dining area with plenty of space for celebrations or taking some time to relax. In addition, there is an ADL kitchen for individuals to learn and refine their cooking or baking skills. Externally, we have a large patio and gardens where we host an annual festival, and a sensory garden for relaxation.

Our interventions are adapted according to individual service user needs in order to maximise their engagement and ensure that progress is being made. Vocational support is provided to assist our service users to build important skills, this may include therapeutic jobs at site, voluntary work and paid employment.
We have a varied activity timetable that changes seasonally, but includes community meetings, trips out, life skills sessions, movie nights and much more. We value the service users as individuals, help enhance their interests and abilities, encourage them to share their views and help them unlock their talents and aspirations.
We are committed to working in collaboration with service users, family and carers and external professionals in order to support individuals to achieve their goals.
