Cygnet Newton House’s Beach Clean Up
The group worked together to litter pick and remove as much rubbish as possible from the beach. This was a fantastic opportunity for the service users to gain not only volunteering experience, but also to establish further community links. As a thank you for their contribution, the Sealife centre surprised us with free entry to the centre after!
April Wilsher, Occupational Therapist said: ““It was fantastic for our service users to gain not only volunteering experience but also to further establish links with our local community. It helped to develop their confidence and vocational skills as they prepare to go back into the community after discharge.”
The group was a great success, with service users reporting “It was great, I really enjoyed being able to give back. I will definitely do it again next month.”
