Cygnet Hospital Kewstoke’s Recovery College recently held its autumn launch event which also saw the opening of the new Kewstoke Café.

The venue was abuzz with activity. Information booths were strategically placed through the venue, providing easy access to details about the courses. Recovery College Lead, Jo Wilkinson, played a pivotal role, personally addressing queries and ensuring that interested attendees got a thorough understanding of what each course entailed.

The new prospectus, in its glossy finish, received a lot of attention, and many seized the opportunity to register for the courses right away.

The opening of the Kewstoke Café marked a significant milestone for the Recovery College community. The initiative taken by the hospital’s General Manager, Dave Smart, and Occupational Therapy Lead, Sarah Davies, to personally serve the attendees not only added a personal touch but also symbolised the cohesive bond within the Recovery College community.

With over 75 attendees, including both service users and staff, it was clear that the team is eagerly looking forward to the courses and the prospects the café brings.

Jo Wilkinson, Cygnet Hospital Kewstoke’s Recovery College Lead, said: “Today’s event was not just an excellent showcase of what’s in store for the Autumn term but a testament to the team’s commitment to the rehabilitation and personal growth of service users. The overwhelming turnout was a clear indicator of the enthusiasm and support for the Recovery College and Kewstoke Café.

From Health & Wellbeing to the unique addition of a Polish language course, it’s evident that they cater to a variety of interests and needs, fostering an environment of inclusivity and holistic growth. It’s set to become a hub of activity, learning, and healing. In summary, today’s event was a resounding success.”
