Cygnet’s HR Director Jenny Gibson asked Expert by Experience Lead Raf Hamaizia to coordinate the project having seen the impact of a similar gallery at Cygnet Hospital Woking.
A team of staff got together on the day to frame all the artwork and put it up around the office. Afterwards Raf said: “The Birmingham Office makeover is complete. I’m loving the gallery areas of the office inspired by the co-produced gallery at Cygnet Hospital Woking. Big thanks to Annie Fishburn, Courtney Greene and the team for putting this together today and Nhi Truong and Mia Bains for looking after us all.
“Thanks also to Gemma Atkins from the Co-production team for the support in the background with the collation of service user and resident artworks via the national artwork competition for the installation.”
The setting has been further enhanced with a Cygnet-themed mural designed by Alexandra Lea Elstone in the reception area. Alexandra has previously created murals for residents at Thornfield House, our residential service in Idle, Bradford.
Raf added: “Every day the team come into the Birmingham office we wanted a big thank you to be the first and last thing they see and to be inspired by lived experience artwork throughout the day to act as a reminder and appreciation for the important work the team here does in supporting people in our services.”
Thanks to the colleagues across Cygnet’s Health and Social Care divisions who supported our service users and residents to submit their art for the project.
