Teams from Highwoods Ward, an acute service for men, and Ramsey Unit, a high dependency rehabilitation service for men, took part alongside occupational therapy staff and the hospital’s personal trainer.
The event proved to be a great success. Emmanuel Ozawara, Occupational Therapist, takes up the story: “It was great to get off the ward and down to the local park for some physical activity and give the guys a chance to socialise. The teams were keen to get hold of the ball, score some goals and prove their skills on the field.”
“There were some real highlights and wonderful moments where our service users not only got to celebrate their triumphs, but encourage their peers to take part engaging and enjoying the sun.
“As our trip to the local park came to a close, good sportsmanship was shown with a shake of the hand and exchange of appreciation for a brilliant day out.”
