Excel and Exceed School in Bury were delighted when one of their pupils recently received £25 for a piece of work submitted to the Under 18’s Fast Feedback Programme with Koestler Arts. The award was for a powerful poem written by the young person called 'Happy Birthday'.

Last weekend Cygnet Hospital Taunton were proud to support Taunton Town FC with its first community engagement project. The project has been set up to support the local community through an engagement program supporting fans, families and the local community in broadening horizons as well as coming to terms with mental health and where to find support.
A service user at Cygnet Sedgley House and Lodge has written a song and starred in his own rap music video as part of Cygnet's Music 2 Empower programme. 21-year-old Ajman Idris was able to film a music video for one of his songs, called ‘Lifeless’, with a professional film crew.
Cygnet Hospital Bury's Excel and Exceed School have recently achieved the Rainbow Flag Award. The Rainbow Flag award is a quality assurance framework that encourages a whole school approach to LGBTQ inclusion and supports schools in developing strategies to challenge and combat LGBTQ phobic bullying.
Approximately 20% of those aged 60 and over now experience mental health conditions. Earlier this month was Older Adults Mental Health Awareness Week, which aims to reduce the discrimination faced by older adults, as well as raising awareness. On Swift Ward, our Older Adults Acute service at Cygnet Hospital Taunton, staff and service users took the opportunity to celebrate the lives of the Older Adults on the ward.
