Cygnet Health Care joins National Suicide Prevention Alliance

We are pleased to announce that we have joined the National Suicide Prevention Alliance.

The National Suicide Prevention Alliance (NSPA) is an alliance of public, private and voluntary organisations in England who care about suicide prevention and are willing to take individual and collective action to reduce suicide and self-harm, and support those bereaved or affected by suicide.

Suicide continues to be a major public health issue, with more than 4,000 people dying in England by suicide each year. Death by suicide is an individual tragedy, and also can have a devastating effect on families and communities.

We have joined over 1000 other members, including organisations from across the public, private and voluntary sectors all working to prevent suicide.

Dr Jon Van Niekerk, Cygnet Health Care’s Group Clinical Director, said, “We are delighted to join the National Suicide Prevention Alliance (NSPA). At Cygnet we care about suicide prevention and are joining this active and expanding alliance with many partners across public, private, community and voluntary organisations to take action to reduce suicide and support those affected by suicide in the best possible way.”
