Raf Hamaizia, Cygnet Health Care's Expert by Experience Lead, has recently been at the forefront of a campaign by the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) for Mental Health Awareness Week. The campaign, 'Putting mental health at the top of the agenda', features a number of video testimonials by experts by experience, including Raf, talking about their experiences of detention under the Mental Health Act.

The Occupational Therapy team at Cygnet Hospital Bury are always looking for ways to improve sports provision for those living with mental health problems. On Thursday 22nd March a special lunch was held to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Cygnet Hospital Blackheath. The lunch was well attended by service users and staff, including some team members who have moved on to other roles within Cygnet and who came back to Blackheath especially for the occasion.
Service users at Cygnet Appletree recently took part in a two-day First Aid at Work course. The course covered all the basic first aid techniques such as the role of the first aider, unresponsive casualty, communication and casualty care, resuscitation (adult CPR), fainting, burns and scolds.
