Meet the Team

Tom Griffiths – Hospital Director

Tom joined the healthcare sector in 2006 having studied Business Studies at Nottingham Trent University. Tom then went on to successfully complete his Nurse training at the University of Nottingham.

Tom has worked for the organisation since 2007 across multiple roles and service lines. starting out as a support worker at Sherwood House before completing his nursing studies. Tom has worked as a nurse across male mental health, female mental health, female personality disorder, male learning disability and neuropsychiatry.

Tom moved into a management role in 2015 taking on the registration for The Lodge and Grange our Neuropsychiatric Hospitals in Sutton-in-Ashfield, then moved to manage Aspen Clinic our Specialist Female Personality Disorder Service in Mexborough, in September 2019 Tom became the Hospital Director at Cygnet Hospital Sheffield, our CAMHS and Female LSU service.

Lisa Boyles - Clinical Manager

Lisa joined us in 2012, initially as a support worker at Cygnet Storthfield House whilst completing her final year in Mental Health Nursing at Nottingham University. She qualified in 2013 where she started her nursing journey at Cygnet Grange which is a neuropsychology rehab service for males.

Since qualifying Lisa has worked as a nurse across male mental health, female mental health, neuropsychiatry and also has experience working in a male C CAT prison as a Substance Misuse nurse. Following this Lisa returned to neuropsychiatry in 2017. In 2018 was promoted to Head of Care at Cygnet Aspen Clinic our Specialist Female Personality Disorder Service in Mexborough.

Lisa then joined the team at Sheffield in 2020 as ward manager for Pegasus Ward where she really enjoyed working within CAMHs and with the team at Sheffield. In January 2022 Lisa was appointed Clinical Manager for the whole hospital.

Dr Sidhartha Hakim - Medical Director

Dr Hakim is an experienced Consultant Child and Adolescent psychiatrist with experience of providing specialist care to young people in an inpatient environment since 2006. Prior to joining Cygnet Health Care Dr Hakim contributed to the development of Tier 4 inpatient services in Lincolnshire. With a consistent focus on quality and on improving standards, he oversaw this service progressing to being one of a handful of services nationally that received accreditation by Quality Network in Inpatient CAMHS (QNIC). At Sheffield Dr Hakim has supported the Hospital grow in its reputation as a provider of high quality care, regionally and nationally.

Dr Hakim is passionate about improving the quality of care provided to patients and families whilst receiving inpatient treatment. As Medical Director Dr Hakim’s focus is on continuously improving the quality of care provided at Cygnet Hospital Sheffield and getting service users and families actively involved in enabling delivery of excellent quality care.

Dr Hakim received the Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2021 as recognition of distinction in his field. He is currently supporting the Hospital adopt a new Intensive Support Service model of care, for young people needing inpatient care in a secure environment, which will improve the clinical outcomes and enhance the experience of young people, receiving treatment at the Hospital.

Sumairaa Hamid – General Manager

After Graduating in BSc Psychology, Sumairaa joined Alpha Hospitals, now Cygnet, as a mental health support worker in October 2011. Whilst working as a support worker she also spent time working at Bury as an Assistant Psychologist as well as studying her MSc in Development Psychology. After completing her studies she decided to take on different roles within the admin sector and was then promoted to Admin manager. Soon after that she completed her Level 5 Visionary Leaders Management Apprenticeship through Cygnet Health Care.

In April 2023, she was appointed General Manager of Cygnet Hospital Sheffield where she is responsible for the management and functioning of all non-clinical areas of the hospital. Sumairaa works closely with all the staff across the hospital and enjoys her role and in doing whatever she can to support the staff and the services across Cygnet Health Care.

Dr Clare Atkinson - Consultant Psychiatrist

Clare started as a consultant in the NHS in 2004 following completion of her higher training in child and adolescent psychiatry in Newcastle upon Tyne and has worked with older adolescents in an outpatient setting since that time and believes strongly that young people need to be active in the decisions that affect their lives whatever setting their care is delivered in.

Prior to joining Cygnet in November 2017 Clare worked in an adolescent crisis team that managed unwell young people in the community so she has a focus on safe early discharge to a less restrictive setting whilst balancing this with an understanding of the risks that cannot be safely managed in the community.

Dr Victoria Khromova - Consultant Psychiatrist

Victoria started as a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist in the NHS in 2015 after completing her Higher Specialist training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Sheffield. Having always enjoyed inpatient work, Victoria started her Consultant career working in a General Adolescent psychiatric inpatient ward at the Sheffield Children’s Hospital where she managed complex mental health difficulties including depression, psychosis, autistic spectrum disorder, eating disorders and emerging personality disorders. She continued to work there until she joined Cygnet in 2020.

Teaching has also been a big passion for Victoria and she completed her MSc in Clinical Education and participated extensively in teaching medical students and other professionals on a range of CAMHS related topics throughout her training and consultant career.

Njabulo Maphosa - Griffin Ward Manager

Njabulo Maphosa “JB” joined Cygnet Hospital Sheffield in 2019. In 2023, he became part of Griffin Ward—formerly the CAMHS low secure service—where his compassionate leadership and strong visibility helped foster a positive and supportive care culture.

JB was promoted to Ward Manager in 2025 and now leads the team in piloting the new model of care for CAMHS intensive inpatient services.

Stacey Burgess - Pegasus Ward Manager

Stacey started her Mental Health Nursing studies at the University of Huddersfield in 2010. Since qualifying Stacey has worked across South Yorkshire including a rehabilitation service for women with personality disorder, before moving on to male forensics working in both low and mediums secure services. Whilst working there, Stacey completed her Non-Medical Nurse Prescribing where she worked as an Independent Prescriber.

Stacey joined Cygnet Sheffield in January 2020 as a Clinical Team Leader at Pegasus Ward and progressed to Ward Manager in July 2022.

Stacey had a keen interest in service user and family involvement. Stacey’s positive influence has shown she is leading her team to achieve their possible best to support the recovery of the young people in our care. Outside of work, Stacey likes theatre trips, sausage dogs and her favourite colour is orange.

Debra Adams - Spencer Ward Manager

Debra joined Cygnet in 2017 following qualifying in 2016. Debra has progressed from Staff Nurse, Senior Nurse and Acting Ward Manager within a female rehabilitation ward at Cygnet Acer Clinic.

Debra moved to Cygnet Hospital Sheffield in 2025 as Ward Manager joining the team on Spencer Ward Low Secure Unit for Females. Within this role, Debra is responsible for ensuring the team are delivering a high level quality of care possible, to achieve the best outcomes for the ladies in their care.

Vicky Higgins-Kay - Unicorn Ward Manager

Vicky completed her Mental Health Nursing studies at Sheffield Hallam University in 2010 and has worked with Cygnet since 2014 across both Adult and CAMHS services. She joined as a Preceptorship Nurse and progressed to Clinical Team Leader before becoming Ward Manager for Unicorn Ward in October 2023.

Vicky has a strong interest in reducing restrictive practices and is currently piloting a CAMHS Intensive Support Service since August 2025. She remains committed to patient well-being and prioritises spending meaningful time with the young people in her care.

Outside of work, Vicky enjoys the gym, volunteers at a retired greyhound sanctuary, and loves listening to audiobooks.

Jamie-Leigh Dakin - Quality Lead

Jamie is a Registered Mental Health Nurse who started her career in 2009 as a Mental Health Support Worker. Since then Jamie has experience working as a Nurse, Clinical Team Leader and Ward Manager across Secure and CAMHS inpatient services.

Jamie also has a BSC Hons in Psychology and completed Post Graduate Study in Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Health Interventions and most recently, Patient Safety and Applied Human Factors.

Jamie has been the Quality Lead at Cygnet Hospital Sheffield since 2020. Jamie is passionate about continually improving the hospitals care delivery through targeted co-produced projects and wider systemic thinking. Jamie is also a Freedom to Speak- Up Ambassador, QI practitioner and a member of the QNIC Advisory Board.

Kerry Booth - Head of Occupational Therapy

Kerry has been with us since 2007, initially joining as an Activity Coordinator. She graduated in 2013 from Sheffield Hallam University as an Occupational Therapist and during her studying continued to work with us as a Support worker.

Kerry has worked across the East Midlands and South Yorkshire in both male and female HDU services, before joining Cygnet Hospital Sheffield in 2022 as Head Occupational Therapist.

Since 2024, Kerry has also been the Regional Lead Occupational Therapist for South Yorkshire.

Sunita Bhatti - Psychologist

Sunita qualified as a Forensic Psychologist and has worked in mental health services since 2009. She has worked in low secure and locked rehabilitation services with males and females as a support worker and within the psychology department. Sunita joined Cygnet Lodge Brighouse in November 2021 before joining the team at Cygnet Hospital Sheffield.

Jo Dawes - Social Work Lead

Jo has been a social worker at Cygnet Hospital Sheffield since 2014 and became Lead Social Worker and Safeguarding Lead for the hospital in May 2016.

Jo gained her BA (Hons) Social Work Studies Degree from Sheffield Hallam University in June 2011. She later worked with an assertive outreach team in the community and has also worked in drug and alcohol services. Jo is an assistant scout leader in her spare time and enjoys working with young people to help them develop a sense of belonging and wellbeing.
