We are proud to announce that five service user led projects from Cygnet hospitals have been shortlisted as finalists in the National Service User Awards 2016. Three projects from Cygnet Hospital Derby and two projects from Cygnet Hospitals Bierley and Wyke have been shortlisted.
A group of service users at Cygnet Hospital Stevenage have developed, produced and starred in a fictional and unflinching portrayal of the kind of discrimination and bullying that individuals with mental health issues experience.
Following the implementation of a series of new initiatives the therapy team at Cygnet Hospital Stevenage have successfully reduced the drop-out rate of service users engaged within their DBT programme from 50% to 33.3%.
We are pleased to report that on the 7th December work was completed on an upgrade to all sixteen bedrooms on Cygnet Hospital Harrogate’s Haven Ward. This marked the end of the first phase of a £350,000 upgrade to all 36 bedrooms in the hospital.

On Friday 20th November it was National Carers Rights Day. To celebrate this event Cygnet Hospital Godden Green's Carer Support Leads Vanda Daniels and Zoe Collins launched a new Carer Support Group to support carers of service users on the hospital's Saltwood Ward.
Staff from Cygnet Hospital Bury recently attended a networking meeting of the Canal and River Trust in Manchester to showcase the impact a service user volunteer group have had on a local reservoir.
