As part of a competition run at the end of 2015, a number of charities were proposed by staff in all Cygnet hospitals, and selfharmUK were chosen following two rounds of extremely close voting.

Cygnet will be supporting all its hospitals to hold fundraising activities locally to raise much-needed funds for this important charity.

Chief Executive David Cole said: “We’re delighted that our services have chosen this worthy cause as our nominated charity for the year. So many people who use our services are affected by self-harm, and we are pleased to contribute to a charity working to help in this important area.

“The money raised across Cygnet, hopefully through a year-long series of planned events held at local hospital level, will go towards selfharmUK’s dedicated online support group, providing training, and supporting their extremely important work.”

selfharmUK is a project dedicated to supporting young people impacted by self-harm, providing a safe space to talk, ask any questions and be honest about what’s going on in their life.
