Development of Cygnet Hospital Maidstone underway

Following the receipt of planning permission in 2016 we are pleased to announce that the development of Cygnet Hospital Maidstone, our new 65-bed facility in Kent, is now underway.

In January 2017 Metnor Construction Ltd were awarded the contract to design and build the hospital. Construction work has since started and is estimated to be completed in time for the hospital to open in the summer of 2018.

“We are pleased to be working with Metnor Construction on this important project. We have been aware of Metnor’s activity within this and related sectors for a number of years as they have developed a national profile and positive reputation for team-working towards a successful project outcome.”Tom Wilson, Director of Development and Facilities

Cygnet Hospital Maidstone is located on a two acre plot at the proposed Kent Medical Campus on Bearsted Road, Maidstone and will provide 65 beds across four separate services. There will be generous facilities for therapeutic and recreational activities, training and administration. In total, the proposed building will provide an average of 86 square metres of total floor space per service user, the highest of any Cygnet development so far.
