Cygnet achieves 100% CQUIN compliance for 2014-15

We are delighted to announce that Cygnet Health Care has achieved 100% compliance with all CQUIN indicators for all of its NHS contracts across the UK for the contract year 2014-15. This is the fourth consecutive year that Cygnet has achieved 100% compliance.

In 2014-15 there were eight CQUINs we were measured against, these were:

  • Physical Healthcare
  • Friends and Family Test
  • Implementing Clinical Dashboards for Specialised Services
  • Collaborative Risk Assessment
  • Supporting Carer Involvement
  • Outcomes Measures (Eating Disorders specific)
  • Optimising Resource (Eating Disorders specific)
  • Assuring the appropriateness of Unplanned Admissions (CAMHS specific)

To help achieve compliance, the last year has seen some exciting initiatives at Cygnet. These include:

  • The development of a 3-module risk assessment and management training programme designed to be delivered collaboratively to staff and service users
  • An online ‘Family and Friends Satisfaction Survey’ that is available to complete either via our website or on a tablet for carers visiting one of our hospitals
  • Implementation of flexible multi-agency reviews of all CAMHS admissions within five days, including the utilisation of of remote conferencing facilities where appropriate
  • A host of carers initiatives including carer newsletters and events, as well as carer involvement in ward round and CPA meetings
  • The systematic implementation and review of the EDE-Q outcome measure for our Eating Disorders service

“Achieving 100% compliance with our CQUIN indicators for another full contract year is testament to the quality assurance and improvement initiatives that are integrated and in place across all hospitals within the Cygnet group. The key is to embed CQUIN into the everyday practice at hospital level to help drive quality improvement and avoid it ever becoming just a box-ticking exercise.”Lee Hammon, Commercial Director
