After much deliberation from the judging panel, we are delighted to announce the winners of the 2021 Great Cygnet Christmas Cake Off! In total we received 64 fabulous entries from across 37 Cygnet's health and social care services. A huge thank you to everyone who took part and made this such a fun and accessible activity for all.
Cygnet Hospital Blackheath in Greenwich, London has been upgraded to a ‘Good’ rating across all five lines of enquiry by the regulator, the Care Quality Commission (CQC), with inspectors praising staff for their “compassion and kindness”.

Service users and staff at Cygnet Lodge Salford have been supporting Lifeshare, a local homeless charity. In what was a real community effort service users and staff donated money and items to create wellbeing packs of practical items such as hats, gloves, wipes, toothpaste and sanitary products for those who could be spending Christmas sleeping on the street.
In one of the Multicultural Network Meetings at Cygnet Heathers earlier this year, it was identified that staff needed a space to take time out when felt overwhelmed. They now have a brand new staff haven and mult-faith room.
Each year a significant number of military veterans suffer mental health issues as a result of their active service. That’s why we are supporting Walking With the Wounded’s (WWTW) festive fundraiser, Walking Home For Christmas. Operations Director, Barry Swire will be walking from the WWTW regional office in Manchester to Cygnet Hospital Bury on Monday 13 December 2021.
We are delighted to announce the launch of the Cygnet Health Care Yellow Book in partnership with charity Rethink Your Mind. The Cygnet Health Care Yellow Book contains artwork, poetry, music and creative contributions from service users across Cygnet and is a celebration of how creativity can support positive mental health.
Last week Cygnet Hospital Taunton kicked off the festive season by hosting their inaugural Christmas Fayre. The event was the culmination of weeks of hard work by service users and staff who worked together to produce a host of items to sell on the stalls.
We are pleased to share that Cygnet has recently signed up to the Government Disability Confident scheme as a Disability Confident Committed Employer. This means we are pledging to make a difference for people with a disability.
