We encourage and enable the individuals we support to lead a full and happy life. We work with them to ensure they have more choice and control in their lives. We find out their strengths, abilities and preferences so that the care provided can be as person-centred and meaningful to each individual as possible.

Our Projects
Yorkshire residents can enjoy three community projects; the bakery project, the textiles project and the gardening project.
Service at a glance
Outwood consists of an eight-bedroom main house and two one-bedroom single occupancy flats. The main house features eight en-suite bedrooms, three large communal lounges, a kitchen, and a dining room. The two flats are both self-contained, allowing individuals to live independently in their own space with staff support. Externally, there is a large garden with plenty of room for individuals to participate in sports and games or simply enjoy the outdoors.
We ensure that families and advocates are actively involved in an individual’s care. Outwood maintains high staffing levels, which allows us to effectively meet the evolving needs of individuals as they progress through their care pathway.

The service is in a great location enabling the people we support to benefit from excellent community facilities including shopping centres, cinemas, pubs & cafés. Each individual is encouraged to be involved in the local community as much or as little as they wish to be.
In conjunction with other local Cygnet residential services, we offer fantastic projects that individuals can attend regularly, including bakery, textiles, and gardening work. These initiatives introduce vocational and learning activities designed to provide opportunities to acquire valuable skills and develop confidence in a safe and familiar environment.
