Albert Ward – Specialist PICU for Men

Gender: Male

Age: 18+

Beds: 9

Albert Ward is our 9 bed male PICU at Cygnet Victoria House and accepts emergency and crisis admissions. Our aim is a short, rapid intervention to help service users regain a sense of control and order in their lives, so they can move to a less restrictive care setting and ultimately return home.

The service provides expert, intensive, short-term, individualised care for service users detained under the Mental Health Act. Service users will present with increased risks that require them to be assessed and treated in a PICU environment.

Hyperacute Neuropsychiatric Rehabilitation – Now Accepting Referrals

Cygnet Victoria House have combined their acute psychiatric expertise with the established neuropsychiatric rehabilitation expertise of Cygnet St William’s, creating a unique and innovative pathway for men who find themselves in environments less conducive to recovery and stabilisation, or requiring a graded step through services from secure pathways.

Our Hyperacute Neuropsychiatric rehabilitation pathway provides an inpatient bespoke behaviour management/ Neuropsychiatric treatment assessment following an Acquired Brain Injury when presenting behaviours are at their most challenging. The pathway will be offered later this month and the team are currently reviewing referrals.
