Kerry-Anne Johnstone – Hospital Manager

Kerry-Anne is the Hospital Manager at Cygnet Wallace Hospital and has dedicated over 20 years of her career to supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, and complex presentations. Kerry-Anne began her career as a Support Worker and progressed through a variety of clinical and leadership roles including Senior Support Worker, Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN), Senior Staff Nurse, Clinical Manager, and Hospital Manager. This breadth of experience has provided her with a comprehensive understanding of both frontline care delivery and strategic service leadership.

Having joined Cygnet in June 2020, Kerry-Anne has played a key role in developing and maintaining high-quality, person-centred services that support individuals to achieve positive outcomes and maximise their independence. She is passionate about creating therapeutic environments where people are treated with dignity, compassion, and respect, whilst ensuring care is tailored to each individual’s unique strengths, needs, and aspirations.

Throughout her career, Kerry-Anne has developed particular expertise and interest in supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism spectrum conditions, and personality disorders. She is a strong advocate for positive behavioural support approaches, recovery-focused care, and the promotion of meaningful engagement that enhances quality of life and wellbeing.

Within her role as Hospital Manager, Kerry-Anne is responsible for the operational and clinical leadership of Cygnet Wallace Hospital, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality care. She works closely with multidisciplinary teams, families, carers, advocates, and commissioners to ensure individuals receive the support they need to achieve their personal goals and reach their full potential.

Priscilla Buertey - Clinical Manager

Priscilla is a dedicated and compassionate mental health professional who qualified as a Mental Health Nurse in 2012. With a passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred care, she has built a wealth of experience across a range of mental health settings throughout her career.

She joined Cygnet in 2021 as a Staff Nurse in Wallace Hospital and quickly demonstrated exceptional leadership, clinical expertise, and a strong commitment to supporting both patients and colleagues. Her drive for continuous improvement and excellence in care led to her progression into the role of Ward Manager, where she successfully led multidisciplinary teams and fostered a positive therapeutic environment.

Currently, Priscilla serves as a Clinical Manager in Wallace Hospital, providing strategic and clinical leadership while championing high standards of care, staff development, and service quality. Priscilla’s journey reflects her dedication to mental health nursing and her commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those she supports.

Dr Eleanor Brewster - Medical Director (Scotland)

Eleanor Brewster is a Consultant in Psychiatry of Learning Disabilities. She has been a consultant since 2009, and has worked as a consultant within NHS services and more latterly the independent sector.

Dr Brewster has worked with individuals with learning disabilities in inpatient and community settings, and with individuals with learning disabilities with co-existing mental health, forensic issues, autism, or who present with behaviour that challenges.

She has worked in a number of management and leadership positions over her career, and is the Medical Director for Cygnet Services in Scotland.

Dr Brewster is passionate about high quality, patient-centred care, and working towards best support enabling them to achieve their full potential.

Dr Fabian Haut - Consultant Psychiatrist

Dr Haut completed his psychiatric training in England and Scotland. He has a CCST in the Psychiatry of Learning Disability and General Adult Psychiatry. Dr Haut worked as NHS consultant psychiatrist from 2001 to 2019. He has experience in inpatient, day patient and community settings including forensic settings and is trained in the assessment and treatment of people on the autistic spectrum. He has an interest in psychiatric education at both under and postgraduate level and continues with input as senior clinical teacher at the University of Dundee medical school.

Dr Haut has an interest in research and has published over 30 papers and four book chapters. He is a medical member of the Mental Health Tribunal for Scotland and a Designated Medical Professional, providing second opinions on treatment.

Dr Ayodeji Ojo - Specialty Doctor

Dr Ayodeji Ojo graduated from Bowen University College of Medicine in 2016 and has built experience in psychiatric practice across a variety of clinical settings. He has particular interest in patient-centred care, comprehensive psychiatric assessment and collaborative multidisciplinary practice. In addition to his medical training, he holds a Master of Science degree in Public Health from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, providing valuable insight into the wider determinants of mental health and the delivery of effective healthcare services.

He currently serves as a Specialty Doctor in Psychiatry at Cygnet Wallace Hospital where he is involved in the assessment, treatment and ongoing care of individuals with learning disabilities and autism.

Nyamadzawo Chivese - Ward Manager

Nyamadzawo Chivese (Chiv) is an internationally trained Registered Mental Health Nurse with experience of working in Zimbabwe and UK. She began working as a Registered nurse in 2005 before advancing her professional development undertaking programs in mental health nursing, nursing education and public mental health research. This gives her a strong foundation in mental health care. Chiv is a member of the Royal College of Nursing.

Since joining Cygnet Healthcare in August 2020, Chiv has worked in low secure settings and female PICU and Acute services. She progressed from RMN to Clinical Team Leader role in 2023. Chiv joined Wallace Hospital in October 2024 and is currently Ward Manager for the unit.

Chiv is passionate about creating a therapeutic environment for individuals in our care where their voice is heard and their choices valued. She believes in evidence based practice and has a strong desire to learn new things. She is committed to building a positive team culture that respects and values professionalism, open communication, personal development and collaboration.

Outside of work, Chiv loves football and tennis. She also enjoys watching reality television and exploring new places. Chiv values family and friendships mean a lot to her.

Dr Taiye Esther Adebisi - Head of Psychology

Dr Taiye Esther Adebisi is an HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist and Head of Psychology at Cygnet Wallace Hospital, Dundee. Holding a PhD in Clinical Psychology and bringing over a decade of professional experience across Nigeria and the United Kingdom, she provides strategic leadership for psychological services, championing clinical excellence, service innovation, and recovery-focused care within complex mental health settings. She is recognised for her expertise in trauma, mood and anxiety disorders, personality disorders, substance misuse, and psychologically informed practice, as well as for her compassionate, person-centred, and evidence-based approach to care.

Alongside her clinical leadership role, Dr Esther is an accomplished researcher whose work has advanced understanding in substance misuse, adolescent mental health, relapse prevention, autism spectrum disorder, workplace behaviour, psychological wellbeing, and health psychology. Her research and professional practice reflect a strong commitment to improving mental health outcomes, developing high-performing services, and translating evidence into meaningful impact for individuals, organisations, and communities.

Ailsa Hyslop - Assistant Psychologist

Alisa completed an undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of Dundee before studying for a master’s degree at the University of Edinburgh. After graduating, Ailsa worked as a support worker in an Edinburgh school for children and young people with complex additional needs, gaining valuable experience working with individuals with autism and learning disabilities.

After two years in this role she joined Cygnet as an assistant psychologist. Her main interest, influenced by her time as a support worker, is in working with individuals with learning disabilities.

Tabitha McClelland - Occupational Therapist

Tabitha is a Specialist Occupational Therapist who works with adults with learning disabilities and autism within a complex care setting. She is passionate about helping people engage in meaningful activities, develop independence, and achieve goals that are important to them.

Tabitha has a particular interest in sensory-informed practice, creating supportive environments, and developing creative opportunities that promote wellbeing and quality of life. She enjoys working collaboratively with patients, families, and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure care is person-centred and tailored to each individual's strengths, interests, and needs.

Since joining the service, Tabitha has been involved in a range of projects to enhance therapeutic environments and activity provision, helping to create opportunities for patients to build skills, confidence, and meaningful routines. She is committed to continuous learning and is passionate about improving services to support positive outcomes for the people she works with.

Jhanvika Bhatt - Occupational Therapist

Jhanvika is a Band 5 Occupational Therapist at Cygnet Wallace Hospital. She completed my Bachelor’s Occupational Therapy in 2021 from Sardar Patel University, India. She is a registered Occupational Therapist with All India Occupational Therapist’s Association (AIOTA) and hold registration with the Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC), UK.

Jhanvika began her career in paediatric occupational therapy in India, where she worked with children with special needs, including ASD, LD, Cerebral Palsy and ADHD. Jhanvika later relocated to the UK, where she worked as a locum Band 4 OTA within the medical Occupational therapy team at St Helier Hospital, Sutton. London.

Jhanvika's role involves supporting individuals to develop functional skills across self-care, leisure and productivity to improve their quality of life. She completes comprehensive occupational therapy assessments, including ADLs, risk assessments (activity based/ equipment), and MOHO based assessments. She focuses on promoting their engagement in meaningful activities to enhance independence and support successful transition into the community.

Having successfully completed her Occupational Therapy preceptorship and Jhanvika is currently undertaking further professional development in sensory integration to enhance her clinical practice.

Sarah Haynes – Speech and Language Therapist

Sarah trained at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh. She began her career with Cygnet Social Care in the North East of England before joining Wallace to take on a new professional challenge.

Before qualifying, Sarah worked as a community based support worker, an experience that shaped her commitment to accessible communication and person centred care. This background continues to support her work with individuals with learning disabilities, helping them express themselves, build confidence, and have their voices heard.

At Wallace, Sarah’s role focuses on ensuring that every patient can advocate for what matters to them, understand information that affects their lives, and make meaningful choices. She also provides training and guidance to staff, supporting them to help individuals achieve their communication goals.

Xophie McAllister - Speech and Language Therapist

Xophie McAllister, Speech and Language Therapist (SLT), trained at the University of Sheffield, before starting her career in Southampton, Hampshire. In 2015, she moved to Scotland to work for NHS Tayside before starting her role with Cygnet Group in 2022.

She has worked with both children and adults, supporting those with speech, language and communication needs as well as supporting people with eating and drinking difficulties. She gained her post graduate dysphagia qualification in 2018.

Some of Xophie’s roles at Cygnet include supporting the communication and eating and drinking needs for those within Cygnet’s Scottish hospital as well as working with the Social Care sites for Cygnet supporting the residents who have eating and drinking needs.

She also supports the Scottish SLT Team ensuring that the individuals they support have appropriate communication supports in place and that staff have high quality training on the communication needs of the patients and residents.
