Meet the Team

Verity Allsop - Hospital Manager

Verity qualified as a Registered Mental Health Nurse in 2011 after completing a degree in Forensic Psychology and then going on to complete her postgraduate nursing qualification. She began her nursing career at Cygnet Sherwood House as a newly qualified nurse and spent 2 years within the service before progressing to her first management role of Head of Care at Cygnet Sherwood Lodge in February 2013. Verity then progressed into her first Hospital Manager role in May 2015 at Cygnet Acer Clinic for 2.5 years before moving into a Regional Quality Assurance Manager role in October 2017.

Verity decided that her real passion remained in Operations and returned back to a Hospital Manager role in December 2019 at Cygnet Storthfield House, before returning back to Cygnet Sherwood Lodge as Hospital Manager in November 2020. Verity strives to keep a happy, positive unit, ensuring that both patient and staff voices are heard.

Katrina Robinson – Team Leader

Katrina started her career in an office where she worked for over 20 years working her way up to Regional Coordinator before deciding on a change of career which led her in to the care sector. Katrina worked in Children’s services for a year before seeing an opportunity in her local area working in Learning Disabilities – Sherwood Lodge.

Katrina joined the team at Sherwood Lodge as a Support Worker in 2013 following a brief time on the regional bank pool. She is now the team leader and an integral part of the wheel that makes Sherwood Lodge turn. Katrina is a hardworking and caring individual who strives to ensure the people we work with achieve their goals; she has been involved in many success stories and will be in many more.

Sarah Berry – Therapy Coordinator

Sarah has over 20 years’ experience in working with people with learning Disabilities, most of that time as an activity Coordinator. Sarah joined the company 2012 starting out at The Manor as a Support Worker before moving to the Team Leader role. She later moved to Sherwood Lodge and back over to the Therapy department which she now knows is her niche.

Sarah is instrumental in developing 26 individualised programmes with a variety of vocational and recreational activities. In turn the team meet and exceed the goal of 25 hours of meaningful activity every week.

Sarah is a dedicated and patient centred professional who continuously strives to meet the needs of a diverse patient group. Sarah’s latest venture will be to set up the Sherwood Lodge for 2019 which we believe will be the first in our kind of environment.

Samantha-Louise Parker – Supervising Art Psychotherapist

Samantha completed a Bachelor’s Degree with Honors in Creative Expressive Therapies, and later completed a Masters Postgraduate Diploma in Art Psychotherapy at The University of Derby. Samantha has a background of working within the health and social care sector, supporting both children and adults.

Samantha has worked for the company since 2009, beginning her role as an Art Psychotherapist at Sherwood House. Since then Samantha has covered various units, providing treatment for adults with learning disabilities, mental health and complex needs. Samantha is currently based at Sherwood Lodge and The Manor.

Samantha is responsible for the provision of specialist intervention for a caseload of service users who attend Art Psychotherapy sessions. This includes both group and individual work, assessment, consultation and treatment. On occasions this involves working collaboratively with other members of the multidisciplinary team, working closely with the Psychology department in identifying individual’s psychological treatment pathway.

Samantha has completed her Art Psychotherapy Supervision Training, which as a result has allowed her to facilitate student placements and other Art Psychotherapist’s within the company. Samantha has more recently completed her Level 3 Leadership Management Apprenticeship, and is now completing her Level 5.

Cygnet Psychology Conference and Awards 2023 – The Winners Announced!

On Wednesday 19th April we held the Cygnet Psychology Conference and Awards 2023, which was held virtually and attended by over 200 guests. The event was chaired by Shaun Keegan, Regional Director of Psychology for Cygnet and Dwayne Smith, Expert by Experience at Cygnet.


Campfire sessions at Cygnet Sherwood Lodge

So far this year the team at Cygnet Sherwood Lodge have held two outdoor cooking sessions / campfires as part of their weekly Forest school sessions.
