Michelle Hallam - Hospital Manager

Michelle originally joined Cygnet in 2018 as hospital manager of Cygnet Grange and Cygnet Lodge. She has been a learning disability nurse for over 20 years. Her experience is working predominantly with severe and challenging behaviour. Michelle was appointed hospital manager of Cygnet Sherwood House in January 2023.

Julie Grant - Head of Care

Julie joined Sherwood House in January 2012 as a staff nurse. During her time at Sherwood House she has been promoted to Senior nurse and then Head of Care in 2020. Julie trained at the University of Nottingham and gained a BSc in Mental Health Nursing. Prior to this she studied at the University of Derby and achieve a BSc in psychology.

Julie has been a part of the nursing team at Sherwood House for nearly 10 years, and supported the nursing in achieving the Nursing Team of the year in 2020. She was also a part of the team when Sherwood House achieved the outstanding status form the CQC in 2019.

Julia is a proactive role model and strive to achieve the highest of standards. Her current role at Sherwood House is to oversee and maintain the care of all the clients at Sherwood House. My responsibilities also include supporting the hospital manager, being a safeguarding lead and attending professional meetings for the clients.

Dr Joseph Nketsia-Tabiri - Responsible Clinician

Dr Tabiri joined the Cygnet Sherwood House team in July 2019 as Consultant Psychiatrist. Dr Tabiri has 17 years’ experience of training and working in mental health care services both in the NHS and the Independent Sector. During this period, Dr Tabiri has worked in various settings of security including mental health rehabilitation, low secure and medium secure settings.

Dr Tabiri has a keen interest in General Adult Psychiatry and promoting care and treatment for individuals within the least restrictive setting to achieve their rehabilitation goals.

Dr Diana Serban - Specialty Doctor

Dr Diana Serban joined the team in August 2017 as a Specialty Doctor and has 11 years of experience in both inpatients and outpatients departments. Her special interest is psychosis. Dr Serban’s duties are to look after patient’s mental well-being and their physical health as well.

Savita Kumar – Chartered and Registered Forensic Psychologist

Savita is a HCPC Registered and BPS Chartered Forensic Psychologist and the hospital Psychologist at Cygnet Sherwood House. She has prior experience of working with male and female offenders in a custodial setting and females detained under the Mental Health Act. As such Savita has extensive experience of undertaking a variety of risk assessments for use in formal settings including the Parole Board and Mental Health Review Tribunals.

Savita developed group work interventions responsive to client needs in the areas of substance misuse and anger management. She has also undertaken one to one therapeutic work with clients, and tailored this work to meet individual needs. Savita is keen to enable service users to develop and move forward so that they can progress along their recovery pathway.

Sophie Plumb - Specialist Occupational Therapist

Sophie is the Specialist Occupational Therapist for Cygnet Sherwood House. Sophie is involved in the creation of individualised person centred therapeutic programme and create interventions to promote wellness and quality of life.

The Therapeutic Programme at Sherwood House includes a variety of activities, including self-care, leisure and vocational skills which can be completed in groups or on a one to one basis in order to overall help patients maintain or improve their independent living skills.
