Phoenix School

Phoenix School Classroom

Phoenix School is the education provider for all young people admitted to Cygnet Hospital Sheffield. Teaching happens within a well-resourced school unit, with specialist teachers and is equipped with classrooms and an ICT suite. The school also has access to a kitchen, gymnasium, outside courtyard and therapeutic garden.

We are unable to accept requests for school places from individuals or local authorities; each school place is linked to a bed on our CAMHS wards.

Our Vision

Our school, in collaboration with the wider hospital, provides a stimulating safe haven where everyone is valued and respected. Our specialised staff promote perseverance by delivering lessons guided by our students’ curiosity. We give all students the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their background or academic ability.

Each child is provided with a bespoke curriculum, allowing them to access learning that is suited to their needs and interests. We respect the rights, beliefs and values of our young people and support them to feel empowered to meet future challenges.
