Joanna Gosnell - Activities Coordinator
Joanna joined Cygnet Bostall House in May 2014 as a Senior Care Support Worker. Her dedication and passion for supporting individuals led to her promotion two years later to the role of Activity Coordinator, where she thrived in creating engaging experiences for service users. She subsequently progressed to the role of Occupational Therapy Assistant, which she describes as one of the most rewarding chapters of her career. Her enthusiasm for the role is evident in her reflection: "Who wouldn’t have fun taking clients to bowling, the cinema, places of interest, and Nando’s!"
In her position as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, Joanna delivers a wide range of life skills programmes. She supports the implementation of social activities for both service users and staff, enhancing the therapeutic environment and sense of community within the service.
In April 2020, Joanna stepped into the role of SRG Lead—a position she has continually developed and strengthened. Her contributions have had a notable and positive impact on staff wellbeing and engagement at Bostall House. She also serves as co-lead for the Freedom to Speak Up and Carers initiatives, roles in which she excels thanks to her exceptional rapport with colleagues and her commitment to inclusivity and advocacy.
Joanna has also embarked on a remarkable apprenticeship journey with Cygnet. Having qualified as an Assistant Practitioner, she is actively pursuing her Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy, demonstrating her ongoing dedication to professional growth and excellence in care.
