Rehabilitation is provided in a therapeutic setting, with a level of security matched to individual need. The aim of the treatment, rehabilitation and re-socialisation programme is to equip the women in our care with the skills and confidence they need to navigate challenges that may come with returning to community or independent living.
Cygnet Appletree is located in the village of Meadowfield, just outside of Durham. The immediate area offers supermarkets, a leisure centre, parks, salon’s and cafés. A quick 15-minute bus ride takes you directly to Durham City Centre, offering a vast array of shops and activities to suit every interest.
Our team empower the women we support to coproduce their activity and therapy programmes, to ensure they are meaningful and effective. Our model of care follows a 5 stage process that aims to deliver a personalised and integrated combination of psychotherapeutic and pharmacological interventions.
We promote physical health, wellbeing and meaningful occupation as part of our treatment programme, using strong community links to facilitate individualised wellbeing plans.
